The Waghor Aquarium is part of the King Mongkut Science Park at Waghor, Prachuab Khirikhan Province. It was established in accordance with the major plan of the project to serve as a learning centre in Marine Science, Natural Science and Environmental Science for children, students from both the formal and non-formal schooling system, government officials, businessmen and the general public, both Thai and foreign. Its aim is to create a learning society where people are able to study by themselves through attending exhibitions and activities that are educational and entertaining. These exhibitions and activities are organized with the use of modern technology that enables visitors to interact with the exhibited items and connect themselves to knowledge and experience that may benefit their daily life.
       The Aquarium was under construction from 1999 to 2001 before being completed in 2002. The construction budget was 163,230,000 Baht. There was project for an exhibition of marine lives in 2003 and 2004; the exhibition covered an area of approximately 3,600 square metres and a 32,170, 800 Baht budget was allocated for organizing the exhibition of marine lives of different species presented in accordance with the ecological system of water resources. Audio-narration is available for services. This is a place where visitors can gain knowledge while taking an eco-tour to learn about the ecological system of water resources—fresh water, brackish water and sea water.
